Hi there,
I am narrating my experience with two ISA NIC's. Anyone who finds any descrepency in
this , please reply.

For the last couple of days i had been struggling to set up a second ISA Card in my
Red Hat 5 machine. I tried in vain to pass the 'ether ' parameter to the kernel at
boot time thro lilo.conf. However from what i found out, Redhat does not have in built
drivers. It is in form of module ne.o or whatever you have . Initially the
/etc/conf.modules file looked like

alias eth0 ne
options ne io=0x300

eth0 was using irq 3.Now my second ISA card was a PNP one and it also wanted to use
irq 3 as informed by pnpdump. First i modified the conf.modules file as
       *****
alias eth0 ne
alias eth1 ne
options ne io=0x300,0x220 #0x220 from pnpdump
      ******

Now i went to CMOS setup, made sure that PNP OS was 'NO' ,
changed irq setting to MANUAL as,,
irq 3 Legacy ISA
irq 4 Legacy ISA
irq5-15 PCI / ISA-PNP

I did this so that irq 5 can be used by eth1. This is because irq 0-4 were being used
, as seen in /proc/interrupts , 5 was the lowest available.

Booting again the bios set the second card to irq 5. and lo !!! both eth0 and eth1
were initialized. Change the CMOS settings again ..... make irq settings to AUTO.
Everything will work as before.

Best of Luck all those who want to use Multiple ISA Cards..
