Hi, I've just joined the list so sorry if this problem has been mentioned already before... I'm having problem with the TCP protocol between a Linux box running Red Hat 5.2 and an GOULD system running MPX32 3.4 (Real Time O.S.). The MPX has additional software called "DOD PROTOCOLS" in order to be connected to the network. I can't get either TELNET of FTP to work properly with Linux. TFTP works fine. I don't think the problem is on the MPX machine, because I can use TELNET and FTP from a SGI Indigo workstation. If I use TELNET on Linux, I get the "Connected to ..." string but I never get the MPX login and eventually I end up with the "Connection closed by foreign host." >From what I can see with TCPDUMP, it looks like Linux never "synchronizes" with the sequence numbers sent from the MPX machine, and all I get is a set of "P" and "S" packets going forward and backwards that eventually times out. I can send the TCPDUMP results but they are maybe a bit too long for a list... Anybody has a similar problem? Anybody interested in the TCPDUMPs?
