Displaying network aliases

Hi,

After upgrading to net-tools-1.46 and kernel 2.1.x (x>101)
i can't display my network aliases anymore, using ifconfig -a

The old version did at least have a /proc/net/aliases, now even
that one has disappeared.

What is the new way to display then, without probing for them and see
if they are used ?
