May be, it's because the old tcp stuff, but nothing like this happened before (now 6 years in operation with loads of different unices). But if not, you will hear from this problem again... Another problem is a reproducible freeze, when I try to turn on DMA on IDE (really bad idea): hdparm -c1 -d1 -X34 -m16 /dev/... ASUS DS97S, 2 * P2/300, 320 MB, ADAP 2940 UW (extra Controller for external Mylex SUI 960 RAID) 3 * 3c905 (bonded), 2 * IBM MHDAE 8,4 IDE,... By the way, the diskless linux workstations from this server are running fine, only wine crashes regularly ;-) But the server freezes make me VERY nervous. I've heard of anti-freeze patches, I will try them the next days. Would someone give me some links?
