Hi all,
Ok, here's the picture:
I have a small network here. All Win95 machines. Except for one
File/Mail/Samba server running Linux 2.0.36 (Redhat 5.2 if you need
to know.)
The server's config details are:
IP: 192.168.1.1
default gateway: blank (needs to be blank as this one has a dial-up
internet connection)
netmask: 255.255.255.0
Upto now this setup was OK. Then today I installed Linux 2.0.35
(RedHat 5.2 again) on one of the machines running Win95. So now
it is a dual boot machine. It communicates perfectly while running
Win95, however I face a problem whenever using Linux:
Whenever I try to ping or telnet from this client to any other machine
I get this message repeatedly:
eth0: timeout waiting for Tx RDC
eth0: timeout waiting for Tx RDC
eth0: timeout waiting for Tx RDC
.....
.....
This machine's config details:
IP: 192.168.1.12
default gateway: blank
nameserver:192.168.1.1
netmask: 255.255.255.0
Also ifconfig shows : lo and eth0.
Both server and client have NE2000 PCI clone cards.
This problem occurs even when the server is shut-down. So I don't
think it is a conflict problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ishaaq
