Hi all,

As a young will-full student, I'm looking for help on a very
specific trouble.
I want to build something like a virtual network on my computer,
to be able to use a proxy for example, (FWTK from TIS), firewalls,
routers... as if I was administrating a real LAN. In other words, I want
my computer to be both a client and a server. I've been told it was
possible, I've seen things about it in 2.2.x kernels compilation
("aliasing" or something like that), the loopback seams to be a good
way... But I don't know how. I would like to know if someone has done it,
without specific applications (some exist for testing but linux doesn't
need anything else that itself for networks...), and if it exists
documents about it. I hope you've understood my request :)

Thank you
