I have IPCHAINS and have been reading the documentation and HOW-TO but
am still lost. I understand it pretty much, but nothing is going to the
forward chain. If I try to ping a machine on the internet, which
should (as I understand) cause the packet to go to the forward chain,
it shows nothing. The forward chain never has anything sent to it. I
tried adding a rule to the input chain to send the packets I want to the
forward chain, but it tells me that there is no such chain. Even though
ipchains -L shows the forward chain. Is there something else wrong?
I've got masquerading and routing set in my kernel. If anyone can tell
me why my forward chain disappeared (maybe it fell into /dev/null :-) or
anything else it'd be much appreciated. thanks!
