I have one problem with an IP Alias that I am not able to solve. We use IP aliases to switch from a production system to a backup system if we have problem with the production systems. When I change an IP Alias with Solaris it sends an ARP request with Hardware and IP adress. This request triggers our routers to change the Adress table (IP to MAC) I am not able to send such a packet with Linux.
