You sound like a brainwashed Windoze user!! (Thats not meant to be an insult!)
We use Linux in a mission critical roll and it's brilliant. Yes we have our
fair share of odd attempts to connect but if setup correctly, Linux appears
to be
bulletproof. That is more than I can say for other firewalls and proxy servers
that I have used. In the live Linux world out there and especially in this
maillist, there are some brilliant people who can give you networking
support
virtually(!!) immediately. You will NEVER be able to get that kind of
support from the large commercials. M$ and Digital/Compaq/Altavista firewalls
don't compare. Linux with masquerading and firewalling works very well.
Just be aware of the limitations of some specific port software.
