Hello all,
I recently set up a small home network, but I am having problems
transfering large files ( >100 MB) between two linux machines. Each time,
I can transfer between 40-60 MB, and then the transfer stops. When it
stops, I cannot ping, telnet, etc. between the two machines. I have tried
the file transfer using ncftp (get and put), ftp, and scp. all do not
work. (after the second time I tried it, the eth0 interface will not
transfer any packets. I have to restart the inferface to get it to work)
I think there might be something wrong on the ethernet level, but I
am no expert when it comes to this. (or maybe kernel problems?) The
recieving computer also seems to be the problem.
My info:
both computers are nearly identical:
Redhat 6.0
kernel: 2.2.5-15 (stock kernel)
hub is a SOHO ware 5-port 10-baseT (cheap)
recieving computer: 3COM Etherlink III (3C590-TPO)
kernel module: 3c59x
sending computer: Linksys 10-BaseT PCMCIA card
relevant /var/log/messages lines from recieving computer:

Thank you for all the help!
