Sounds fair. I am new in kernel hacking - should I contact the author of
the driver or somebody else about this bug?

Maybe I do because to me the error seems very easy to reproduce - infact
it has showed up in all the different configurations I have tried it on
with different hardware, setups etc. And now I have pacthed the kernel
with my own stuff which might make the results more unrealiable. But I
will do it right now, then :-)
