Hate to reply to my own post but I have to make a correction:

        Mister Layes no longer maintain arpd, the new maintaier is Mr.

Rosenblum <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (for Debian) but it seems that on 2.2.x
kernels there is a new mechanism for increasing ARP tables size that I
don't know maybe some sysctl or compile time option ???
        Anyhow the documentation needs to be updated.
