Hi,
I'm studing the new networking facilties of Linux 2.2.x
and I found many overlapping about the functions or commands.
On classic FW/NAT environment like:
+--------+    +------+        +----------------+
|INTERNET|<-->|Router|<------>|Linux FW/NAT+DNS|
+--------+    +------+        +-----+----------+
                                    |
  .......+---------Local Protected Network-----+.........
     Mail Server                             WWW server

Well,
When I can use ipchains ?
When I can use ip nat (iproute2 package)?
When I can use trasparent proxy?
When I can use autoforward or portforward?

Samebody can help me to identify the right mix of
commands?

Thanks in advance
Alfredo
