Hi,
Could someone tell me what is wrong. I have been
unable to start lpd daemon on my Network Printer. This
is a HP LaseJet5Si. I can ping and telnet the printer fine,
I am able to do lpq on the print Que, the lpd daemon is
running on my machine. The items I sent to the printer are
in the print que with correct file sizes ...
When I do an lpq I get the message, lpd daemon not present
or not started. I did an lpc and did a shutdown, up and restart.
lpc responds with "lpd daemon started" however if I do an
lpq it still shows as "lpd not started".
I have powered down and powered up. nothing works. My
printcap entry contains "raw" entry. I just can't figure why I can't
start lpd and print normally?. Please help. I have read the "HowTo"
and "How-To-Mini" docs, but no help.
I am running Linux RH 6.0 and Linuxppc 5.0
