Speaking of ready for Linux modems.
PC-TEL has just announced the world's first LinModem.
If you have enough processor, maybe you could go for one of these.
I still prefer the hardware modems, though.

Subject: modem ?

hello

I have a quick general question for anyone who uses a modem on linux, which
one are you using??? I ask cause I have to build some boxes for remote
sites, and have no idea what a good modem is
anymore
and it looks like every modem out there now is for windows only with a big
AOL stamp on it. specifically I am trying to find a stable 33.6 internal
that has a mature driver for linux.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

aj
