identd requests are normal, if somewhat pointless most of the time.
When your box connects to a server, the server may connect back to
your ident server to find the username associated with the connection,
so that it can log it.
As the information is only as reliable as the host which provides it,
you may wish to restrict identd connections to hosts which are under
your control.
