I just bought a 3com 3c509 combi ethernet card, I've set the irq to 10 which is
unused on my system, the memory base is 0x300, the 3c509 driver is compiled
into my 2.2.12 kernel. the card is detected during boot up with the message
eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag 1, BNC port, address 00 20 af 57 87 ee, IRQ 10.
3c509.c:1.16 (2.2) 2/3/98 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
however when I check /proc/interrupts, I get the folowing results.
CPU0
0: 162653 XT-PIC timer
1: 1215 XT-PIC keyboard
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
10: 0 XT-PIC eth0
11: 3293 XT-PIC advansys
12: 160389 XT-PIC PS/2 Mouse
13: 0 XT-PIC fpu
14: 104337 XT-PIC ide0
NMI: 0
ERR: 0
I had a look through various archives on the net, and noticed Donald Becker
suggested to set the irq in the bios to isa/eisa only, which I've done.
The card answers to Donald's diagnostic program as follows
