Hi guys,
I have already sent a message to this list about a Pcbit-TA external ISDN
adapter (Euro-ISDN compatible) and my problem connecting to my ISP.
Since you couldn't help me, I decided to try the help-desk of my ISP. The
problem is, they can't help me either. They told me my config was alright
so the problem must be the Pcbit-TA. The PCbit-TA providers do *not*
support Linux, so I seem to be stuck. I am not even sure the problem is in
the Pcbit-TA.
Can anyone please try to help me. I don't know what to do anymore.
This is a weird piece of "garbage", it's not detected as a isdn adapter not
even by Windows. Someone in the Internet claim using Pcbit-TA with Linux,
with the kernel compiled without support for ISDN.
This thing supports V.120, C.75, transparent HDLC, X.75-NL, PPP, ML-PPP,
async2sync ppp. and it installs just like a regular modem in Linux.
I can make the call, but when it comes to authentication, using PAP (ISP
information), it usually LCP drops the connection, timing out sending
Config-Requests. Sometimes a message appears saying:
Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean:
Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0.
So what is this, compression ? my ISP doesn't accept my PAP authentication
? what ?
I would really appreciate help on this one.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Nuno
