I am having a bit of trouble with my PPP configuration. I am running
Redhat version 5.2. I have read every bit of information regarding PPP
configuration from the HOWTO's. I am able to confirm a connection to my
ISP by the debug logs. My ISP is already running PPP when I connect. So
authentication is handled through PAP.
I dial the ISP and get the CONNECT string
I send an LCP ConfReq
I receive an LCP ConfReq <auth pap>
I send an LCP ConfAck <auth pap>
I send a PAP AuthReq, with the correct username and password
Actually, 10 such PAP AuthReq packets are sent. At that point pppd gives
up on the connection and disconnects.
What can I do to get my ISP to acknowledge the authorization request? Am
I missing something?
