Are people quoting this knowledge from an RFC? Can someone point me at
the one that states either of these two statements? I was under the
impression that an IP address belonged to an interface on a machine
_not_ a machine. I've heard this from _everyone_ I have talked with on
this subject, for years.

I have heard that the same mac address can be used for multiple IPs
(i.e., interfaces), although I don't know if its allowed if you have 2
interfaces on the same network. Solaris does this I believe.

Thanks,
Chris.
