Hello
all,
I'm
installing WinLinux 2000, (linux 2.2.6) with the K Desktop Environment
1.1. I know unix - but it's been a few years, and basically I don't
know how to get a non-native PCI NIC driver working so I can get in or out over
the ETH0 PCI NIC using TCP/IP. (I have a Macronix Tulip clone - and
i have the latest driver "tulip.c")
I've read tons of the How-To's, but i'm having difficulty even knowing
what the status of my hardware is! I believe the OS has identified the PCI
hardware correctly, and it gives the addresses, and irq. However, the OS
does say that ETH0 is not active in one of the files i stumbled accross.
What tools do I use for setting up this portion of the
NIC?
Then
what files do I need to set up to get basic TCP functionality? I have a
firewall already, so i just need BASIC funtionality for WEB
access...
Thanks,
Jason
