I've had some success today with auto starting my application in fvwm.
My /etc/inittab calls level 5 with
#Run xdm in runlevel 5
x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/X11 xdm -nodaemon
Beings xinit was called in the startx script, I tried changing the xdm
to xinit
in the inittab file. It would not enter xwindows and it was obviously
erring
out somewhere.
After hunting around, I found some information saying to copy the
".initrc" in
the user directory to ".xsession", which is what xdm looks for. This
was
successful. I could then start the app from the InitFunc in the
".fvwmrc" file.
My next step is to find away around the normal log in and have it boot
directly
into the application account. From what I understand, when booting into
run level 5, the login is done with xdm. I see more digging ahead.
Is anybody familiar with how bypassing the login could be accomplished.
Thank you,
