This typically is a response of /sbin/route, which is called
by the ifup script.  You should check your configuration in
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

...

indeed as Peter Balon states, your netmask here is probably
misconfigured.
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
should probably look something like this:

DEVICE="eth0"
IPADDR="192.168.0.1"
NETMASK="255.255.255.0"
NETWORK="192.168.0.0"
BROADCAST="192.168.0.255"
ONBOOT="yes"

...

/sbin/route -n

or drop the last line if there's no gateway on your subnet...
