I have a 3c905b-TX card in my home computer (running W98).
It's a Pentium-MMX 32meg RAM.
I recently installed the Winlinux2000.
On powerup it does not dectect my NIC which according to
W98 and the 3com diagnostics:
On the PC, the card is using IRQ 9 and io 0x1080.
Three questions:
1. Which module should I use for this card?
2. Can it work with the IRQ 9 setting? as well as 0x1080 io.
3. If I need to change the IRQ/io, how do I?
I tried using:
modprobe 3c59x (afterwards ifconfig eth0 displayed settings,
but winlinux2000 locked up after about a minute
or two - required power off, Cntrl-Alt-del wouldn't
even work). I checked my messages file and the
modprobe
set the irq/io addresses incorrectly.
If I supplied an irq=9 and/or io=0x1080 that driver would give
me an error message of invalid parameter for both irq and io.
Any Ideas?
