Hi,

Following is a brief explanation of the setup:

  1. Mail for the users of a domain "mdomain.com" is sent to
one common mailbox "A" on server "mailserver"
     The mailserver supports only POP3

  2. I use fetchmail to pick up my email and process it for
all users using procmail, which takes care of a lot of
     things.

    My ".fetchmailrc" file:
    *********************************************************
     set invisible
     defaults proto pop3
     no envelope
     smtphost localhost
     poll mailserver localdomains mydomain.com:
     aka isp.server
       user A with pass x
     mda "/usr/bin/procmail"
    *********************************************************

  MY PROBLEM:

   * If a mail is sent to 5 users, 5 copies of the same mail
     are kept on the server.
   * Currently after fetching one copy, i am able to determine
who the other 4 recipients are.
   * Also, based on the "Message-ID" tag, if i do download the
other 4 copies, i can succesfully delete them using procmail
     without causing a duplicate distribution.

** BUT i have to download the remaining 4 copies !!!!!!!
is there a way to avoid this ????
Does fetchmail have a capability of detecting a previously
downloaded message (based on Message-Id) ???????????

Your ideas/comments would be appreciated !!

Thanks,
Mark.
