Linux presents the device statistics through the pseudo-file /proc/net/dev.
There is no mode in the standard kernel to propagate error packets through
the protocol stack.
We have a test setup in the Scyld labs with the capability to generate and
receive CRC errors, but it uses a specially modified kernel and driver.
I thought that the UNH IOL made an annoucement several months ago that the
testing capability was already in place, funded by a commercial contract..
