In The Linux implementation of TCP we see that for LAN transmission an ack
is sent at least once every 2 full packets are received. This reduces the
efficiency - since the receiver window is around 32k but after the sender
sends 2 full packets it gets an ack(and probably a window update). Won't
it be better to delay the ack further..lets say every 8 full packets -
this will allow the sender to send 8 full packets without having to
contend for the medium with the ack..
Any thoughts on this please let me know ...
