Hi all,
first happy new to all of you and may the new millenium see the happiest of
your days.
i have two machines running redhat linux 6.0, i have a pci netgear ethernet
card in both of them.from the control panel i added the hostname, interface,
and the hosts info correctly. i can ping each machine from the other with no
problem. i can telnet from the first machine to the second one fine, but
when i tried to telnet from the second machine to the first one i got this
error message:
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused.
what is going on here? what do i have to do to fix this problem ?
also i tried to setup nfs, followed the NFS-HOWTO, but when i tried to start
rpc.nfsd i got this error message:
nfssvc: Function not implemented.
i have the nfs option compiled in the kernel. what is going on here too?
first machine:
name: valley.arrow.com
ip: 192.168.110.1
second machine:
name:bothel.arrow.com
ip: 192.168.110.2
thanx in advance
mark
