Hello All,

I have a DSL connection to the Internet and a dual-homed Linux 6.1 box
running IP Chains. I have a private network of about 50-75 workstations
which are assigned a 10.0.0.0/16 IP address via a NT DHCP server.
Everything works great, however, the private side of my network is not as
secure as I would like it to be. My users can browse the web, check email,
ICQ, AOL, chat, etc. via the IPChains configured Linux box. The performance
is night and day compared to a NT Proxy 2.0 server. To say the least, I am
VERY PLEASED with everything so far. However, I have yet to build a stable
and strong firewall that will protect outside intrusion of my internal
network. As I stated earlier, my current IPChains configuration is
basically translating all requests from my private network to the Internet
and forwarding those requests out. Simply put, I need assistance in
configuring a strong, reliable firewall.

I was wondering if someone might be able to forward me a copy of their IP
Chains/Masquerading configuration file (utilizing a DSL connection to the
Internet and multi-home Linux box)to use as a reference for my firewall. I
have a basic understanding of how IPChains works, have read a couple of very
resourceful READ-ME and HOW-TO's, but would very much appreciate an actual
live firewall to use as a basis on configuring mine.

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

Sincerely,

Chris McGlasson
