I would like to report that the last time I have seen this driver stop was
24 Feb 2000. I was running
2.2.15pre9 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 2.95.2 20000116 (Debian
GNU/Linux)) #1 SMP
at that time.

Since Feb 29 2000 I am running 2.2.15pre10 gcc version 2.95.2 20000220
and since Mar 5 2000 version 2.2.15pre13 gcc version 2.95.2 20000220
On Mar 11 I have started using 2.2.15pre14.

I don not think that running out of memory was the reason - it happened
without any corelation with system activity. It just looked like the card
stopped generating interrupts suddenly (both Rx and Tx). I think it could be
gcc. Upgrading resulted in bootable 2.3.47 as well.
