1. i've created a socket using the foll call
socket(AF_INET,SOCK_PACKET,ETH_P_IP) to receive IP frames from
DL layer. i've a doubt in this. Will the received frame have CRC check
(4bytes in Ethernet) or will it be stripped by the hardware itself. secondly
iam writing a sniffer as a basic for ids. i want to minimise packet loss.
what should i do. will it be solved by increasing the buffer size.
could somebody sugest some sites for SOCK_RAW programming tips and
tutorials. thanks in advance
