What I'm going to tell you, is happening on 3 different Machines, each have
Red Hat installed as follows:
- RH 5.2, Kernel 2.0.36
- RH 6.0, Kernel 2.2.11
- RH 6.1, Kernel 2.2.12 and 2.2.14
All of them connects to internet with a 56k modem with differents users and
ISPs.
Never a problem until I changed my ISP to a new one. Everything works
perfect, but (always a but) the POP3 protocol is working a lillte strange.
If I use the new ISP, from the firewall I can telnet to the pop servers and
after logging on, issue a RETR 1 command and see the first mail. If I try
the same in a client machine, the RETR 1 fails (of course if there are more
mails all RETR commands fail)...that means...I become a + OK xxxx bytes and
that's is...no more data..... Of course that only happens with some POP
servers (for example pop.gmx.net or pop.mail.yahoo.com) and not with others.
The sniffers don't show me nothing strange...When I connect wiht other ISP
the problem dissapears
Where can I look to resolve this or who can give me a clue of what is
happening here....
Thank you
Eduardo
