It worked! After reading Pravin's mail I started commenting out and
changing things.
Basically, I changed local address s_addr from
192.168.1.1 to INADDR_ANY, affecting both 'bind' and imr.interface.s_addr for
IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP.
The other problem was that 224.0.0.0 was not in the routing table because
of a typing error: I wrote 'route ..... netmasq .... dev eth1'
