Hi,

I am running the latest development test kernel -- 2.3.99-pre4-4
and pppd 2.3.11 with VJ Compression and PPP Deflate enabled.
When I load http://www.amazon.com in Netscape Communicator 4.7,
I get the first 19KB to 26KB of data and then the connection stalls.

The weird thing is that if I click on a link on the partially
rendered page, pages other that the home page are displayed fine.

I would suspect that there was a problem with pppd handling
some server redirection, but if I follow a link from a page
other than the home page back to Amazon's home page, I still
get the stall.

Here is a snippet of tcpdump output that contains the point of
failure when attempting to load
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/home/home.html:

So, I suspect this is a Linux bug. Obviously, most other PPP
implementations are handling whatever the Amazon servers are doing
gracefully.

Thanks,
