Hi, I was discussing was to get better performance from boxes limited to modems with a couple of people and equal cost multipath came up. However, it would seem to apply only to forwarded packets, rather than locally originating connections, since the latter get bound to a local address before the connection is made. A brief trawl through the routing code left me sadly none the wiser about how easy it would be to have outgoing connections bound randomly to any matching address, rather than the first one, as it seems to happen at the moment. Does that make sense? Would it make sense? Can it be done? Given a few pointers, I'll have a go..
