Hi,
Below is (are) the problem(s) :))
My setup
I have a domain pcsadvt.com and my local system running
(pcs.pcsadvt.com) on redhat 6.0 and sendmail 8.9.3. I have a dns
setup locally and everything is fine. The subdomain pcs.pcsadvt.com
is not a fully qualified domain. I use the ip address of
192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
I connect to the internet via a dial up ppp line. My local isp
assigns dynamic ip address.
The problem
Sendmail when it trys to send a mail on the internet, it reports
gethostbyaddress(203.197.135.75) failed 1. When I looked up the ip
address using nslookup, I get an error hostname lookup failed. I
know that the above ip address assigned by my isp is a fake one.
My question is how do I get sendmail to work using a dial up line. I
read the howto, faq and even the SendMail book of O'Reilly but I
still cannot figure out how to make it work. I don't want sendmail
to lookup up the address assigned (which sendmail always does).
I am many would have faced the same problem sometime somewhere and
even found a solution. Can someone guide me?
Thanks in advance
Adrian
