Hi!
Our network use to have a leased line of 128k/s to the internet. Now we
bought a receive only satelite system for downlink. We installed it on a
computer on the network and we first tried it on windows-98 and it worked
but that computer had only the ip of the satelite provider.. so installing
a proxy server on that computer wouldn't have solved our network...
because the ip was not local and the request to the proxy went outside the
network. So it was not much gain in speed.
We tried to install the card (aba2030) on linux and put two ip's on it..
We installed the satelite card and the ethernet card. But now I don't know
how to configure the system so that the uplink is done through the leased
line and the downlink through the satelite. What do I have to put in
linuxconf at Basic Host Information at the second adaptor.. currently
there is only the ethernet adaptor set up. But the computer has 2 ip's...
i tried to traceroute both ip's from a remote server and they both work..
one through the satelite route and one through the local isp route. What
options do I have to connect all the network to the satelite. I'm not
looking for a "buy a router" solution " :)... .. but first I need to know
how to set up the downlink.. then if I have this I could do masquerading.
Anyway.. pls help.

Thanks in advance!
