Immediately go to the library or a bookstore, get:
Brian Kernighan, Dennis Ritchie "The C Programming Language", Second
Edition.
Read it. After that (optionally) take something heavy and throw it at
the person who taught you C on something other than that book.

Use man pages. Get any Unix beginner book, for example:
G. Glass "Unix for Programmers and Users"
however in this case any other beginner Unix book will do.
