I am relatively new to linux. I had red hat
linux 6 setup on my machine
I managed to shutdown the system with the
power switch. Now when I boot up, I get the following problem
INIT: cannot execute
"/etc/X11/prefdm"
INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
INIT: Id "2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
INIT: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
INIT: Id "5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
and then the system hangs.
I tried to boot in single user mode, using the linux single command, but
with no luck. I get the same problem. I would appreciate any help on
this issue
