Hi,
For the past couple of days I've been playing with mrtg
(http://ee-staff.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/mrtg.html) to plot various
stuff. At home, I am connected to the net through Pacific Bell's xDSL
service. I have an ethernet hub which is hooked up to an Alcatel DSL modem
which is connected to a POTS splitter.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Has anyone figured out how to use mrtg to plot the performance metrics
of the Alcatel DSL modem (which is actually a router)?
2. My understanding is that the Alcatel DSL modem is acutally my gateway /
router. Has anyone hacked the modem? I know that classic routers you can
telnet in and set various stuff. Can I do the same with the Alcatel DSL
modem? If I run nmap against my gateway / router's IP address it tells me
that no ports are open.
Thanks.
Thaths
