Here's our problem:
We're in the process of merging two companies with separate networks.
We'd like to merge the networks and combine the services.
Company A has a /25 (149.152.56.0/25).
Company B has a /27 (149.152.56.128/27).
Company A and Company B share a router and a T1.
Company A uses .1 as its gateway.
Company B uses .129 as its gateway.
Neither company owns or controls the router (their provider does).
Company A has far more servers than Company B and renumbering all of
them would require a major effort. Company A's workstations and
Company B's workstations and servers can be renumbered easily.
We're considering the following:
(internet)
||
[router]
||
eth0
[linux server]
eth1 eth2
|| ||
(/25 subnet) (/27 subnet)
We'd like to put the servers on the /25 subnet and the workstations
on the /27 subnet.
Unfortunately, none of us can figure out how to do this, and we don't
have the time or resources to set up a test network and twiddle with
it to figure it out.
Does anyone hee have any suggestions on how we can merge the two
networks like this without having to renumber Company A? (specific
commands would be nice since we haven't been able to figure out
the winning solution yet).
Thanks,
Colin
