Hi Karl,

you may read the Kernel-Howto. The baseline
is to download a new kernel, copy it to /usr/src/linux-new-kernel-version
make a cd to it and an make menuconfig or xconfig. Than you can change
the modules et al. After this just modify your linux boot and the kernel
will be loaded (_see_ Kernel-Howto www.linuxdoc.org )
