Hi folks,

I'm sort of new to understanding what port binding means and because of this
lack of knowledge i'm having a hard time getting a java chat server/client
to work. I'm running RH 6.2, I have the server installed in
/usr/local/chatserver and the client classes are in the html directory with
the web page they are accessed from. The client loads in my web page
correctly and it seems as if the server starts but I can't get the 2 to
"talk" to each other (ie, there is nothing displayed in the client text box
where there should be some 'loading..' text). The server is running on port
6666 by default. How can I see that this server is actually running on this
port? Is there a command to show what processes are running on what port?
Any other clues or hints you can give. Thank you very much for sharing your
knowledge.

Greg
