HI Natarajan, I don't use usenet, email lists are much nicer. But are you sure that freenet's news groups are not "read-only"? There is a very good one in Berlin, that's free. It has both the English groups and German speaking groups. If you are interested here's the address: news://news.cis.dfn.de You will have to signup and get a password. That takes 2-3 days, but it's free.
