What is going on here?[details deleted]
It appears that at least once a week that we are now getting commercial spam.
What happen did some one plant a Trojan or are they logging in to send out this trash.
To tell you the truth, Frank, I get so much SPAM here (I don't use a filter by choice) that I don't notice the little that comes via this list. Since you asked ... I went back and looked at the original message, which was still in my e-mail trash folder. It's just an ordinary posting to the list, with no special tricks.
I did check once, many months ago, and found that vger runs a pretty elaborate SPAM filter, one good enough to keep out the familiar con deals and ads (I'm not naming them more precisely so this reply won't itself trigger the filter). I think that all you are seeing is that SPAM filtering is imperfect and some stuff gets through.
