How should I update my Mandrake 9.2 to 10.0? Do I have to have those
Mandrake 10.0 cd's or can I do it from the net. I'm not a Mandrake
club member.

  Hi.

You can upgrade your 9.2 to the 10.0 version easyly (at
least i think so).....

Go to this ftp (is one of many):

ftp://raven.cslab.vt.edu/pub/linux/mandrakelinux/official/10.0/i586/images

and download the archives network.img and network_drivers.img.

They are images for build two boot floppies for net
instalation or upgrade of the Mandrake system. For know how
build the floppies, you must see 'man dd'. It's a very simple
command.

This two floppies allows you boot the computer like if there
are a Mandrake CDROM into the device. The installer is the
same. But i can say you it is "better" that your speed conection
be at least like an ADSL kit. :)

Only one more thing. It's a very good idea have a separate note
with the complete direction of the mirrors you want to use. You
can select your favourite at this site:

     http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ftp.php3

Choose one or some with the directory /pub into the path.

I hope this can be useful for you.

  Regards.

  Jose.
