If your NE2000 doesn't work you need to do dmesg | more and look
for where your thernet card should be loaded. If it isn't there at all you
need to recompile your kernel with NE2000 support selected. If there but
not loaded you must have a parameter conflict. If there type ifconfig eth0
and see that that is right. Then set up your network.
