I found that I could not run Xconfigurator, and was advised to install
XFree86-SVGA-3.3.2-13. This indeed did fix Xconfigurator.
However, it messed up symlinks so that the X System won't start (can't
find XF86Confic (there's a symlink, but the file disappeared). I was
runing Matrox, and I have a XMatroxconfig file, but I don't know now
what kind of symlink it requies. Is "X" the name of the link, and where
should it be?
I need guidance on how to reconstitute a proper symlink. Or can someone
point me to some documentation? What is Xwrapper? If I want to switch
from Metro-X to fvwm2, what is the proceedure?
