Indeed, there are a lot of languages, and which is "the right one" depends on what one wants to do with it : c for system, perl is fine for strings, tcl/tk or tdksh for window-oriented things, lisp for emacs users, etc. Pen and paper are good programming devices too! cheers, Etienne
