I had once this problem, but I think upgrading to a more recent
version (4.06) fixed it.

For the text fields in forms, it not only freezes at times, but some
versions also added garbage in the submitted data some of the time.
Nice for online buying :-). For the freezing thing, it does happen at
times with 4.06, but for me it's enough to wait a little and then text
can be entered again. It's still sort of a pain to be forced to use
it, mainly because it's unreasonably fat and memory hungry as MIke
said, and slow..

What happened with MS projects to port Explorer to Linux? In my
experience (just my experience, no politics implied) Explorer 4.0 is
more responsive than NS 4 under Win95. BUt admittedly in Win95 the
game isn't quite fair.

By the way, one thing that I find very clumsy in current browsers is
the bookmarks managing (add bookmark, then edit bookmarks, then tinker
with the mouse for 3 hours, gee this was not made to be used). DOes
anyone use a solution other than the built-in bookmarks thing (under
LInux)? Of course using something outside NS would be a bit annoying,
but it could easily compensate that by being more usable.

Final note on NS, for those who don't like its email client and who
are starting/tempted to use emacs for HTML, Perl or other things, I
would recommend emacs packages for email (I use VM, but the included
Rmail is OK). If you have a vague notion of Lisp, it's even more
useful.
